MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Volunteers make a profound difference in the quality of care and support services provided at Brook Lane. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities, some with direct client contact and others with minimal or no contact with clients. Volunteers may share their time and talents in the following ways:
- Tutoring
- Arts, crafts, music or sports activities
- Library assistant
- Fundraising
- Event organization
- Gardening
Volunteers go through an orientation process to increase their knowledge of working with individuals struggling with emotional and behavioral challenges. Training times vary depending on the volunteer position. All volunteers who will have direct contact with clients must sign a confidentiality agreement and have a current influenza vaccine, fingerprint background check (state and federal) and two tuberculosis skin tests completed 30 days apart. Brook Lane financially covers the expense of the influenza vaccine, fingerprinting and tuberculosis tests.
Complete and submit the volunteer application and we will contact you to set up an interview.
